The early months of 2017 in California were so wet that its deserts experienced what's called a "super bloom." After years of drought, the normally arid desert around Palm Springs was lush. Visitors came from as far as Europe, Africa and Asia to experience this rare occurrence, causing traffic jams, getting lost in the hillsides and fainting from dehydration.
