Easy
Ways to Protect Your Home and Your Valuables

Always lock doors and windows in both your home and
car

Do not leave your garage door opener in a car left
on the street or in a car parked in your driveway
while you are away

Use motion detector lights on your property

Place indoor lights on timers to go on and off at
different times

Mark and photograph your valuables

Tell your next door neighbor if leaving for a few
days or an extended time

Leave emergency phone number with your neighbors

Stop your newspaper and have a neighbor pick up your
mail

Consider a quality locking mail box to protect
against identity theft (click here for more

Conduct regular maintenance and checks on your alarm
system

Locking Mailbox
We have
discovered a great locking mailbox: Armadillo Mailbox.
It is Postmaster General approved and is very strong.
It is shaped
like a regular rural mailbox but has a very deep throat
downward. It accepts a shoebox-size package and can have
its locking door facing either the street or the house.
The big advantage is that it is virtually impossible to reach
down inside to steal mail; there is only a ½-inch
clearance at the back. The price compares favorably
with other locking mailboxes on the market –
approximately $404 installed (in grey) in the Palms
Springs area.
If you want
a color other than grey (black, green or white), it
